Inventory Management

In the rapidly evolving cannabis industry, effective inventory management is essential.
This section provides a comprehensive guide on handling various inventory tasks within the CannaNiche system, ensuring both efficiency and compliance.

Search Packages

  1. Selecting Search Criteria:
    • Status: Choose 'Active' or 'Inactive' from the drop-down menu to filter the search.
    • Current Room: Select the room where the inventory is located from the drop-down menu.
    • Product: Select the product from the drop-down menu to find all packages associated with it.
    • Package ID: Enter the complete or partial package ID in the search box.
    • Packaged Between: Pick start and end dates to search for packages by their packaging date.
  2. Performing the Search: Click the 'Search Packages' button to process your search criteria and view the results.
  3. Selecting/Deselecting Packages: Use the green checkmark icon to select or deselect all packages in the search results.

Scan Barcode/RFID

Streamline the process of entering multiple package IDs with the barcode/RFID scanning feature. This tool is designed for quick and efficient data entry, allowing you to capture package details with minimal effort.

Steps for Scanning Barcodes/RFIDs:

  1. Position your cursor in the text box provided to activate the scanner.
  2. Begin scanning the barcodes or RFID tags. Each scanned ID should appear in the text box.
  3. Review the total number of scanned items displayed at the bottom to ensure all tags have been read successfully.
  4. Once you have finished scanning, click the 'Done Scanning' button to proceed with the inventory update or validation process.
  5. If you need to start over or cancel the scanning process, select the 'Cancel' button to reset.

Create New Package

Expand your inventory by creating new package entries. The process is straightforward whether you are creating a package from scratch or using an existing package as a starting point.

Steps for Creating a New Package:

  1. Initiate the process by clicking the "+ Create New Package" button.
  2. If the new package is derived from an existing one, input the 'Source Package(s)' at the top of the form, along with the amount of weight being transferred from each source package.
  3. Enter the 'New Package #' for the new package you are creating.
  4. Choose the product associated with the new package from the drop-down menu. If the product is not listed, you will need to create a new product entry before proceeding.

View Package

Inspect the finer details of any package in your inventory with the 'View Package' feature. This functionality provides a comprehensive overview and allows for the addition of further details to the selected package.

Steps for Viewing a Package:

  1. Select the package you wish to view from the inventory list.
  2. To access the package's details, click the green arrow labeled "Go to Package." Alternatively, you can select the package and then click "Select Function" at the bottom of the screen, followed by "View Package" from the options presented.
  3. Once you have entered the package detail view, you can peruse and input additional information as necessary.
  4. All functions available in the search menu are also accessible here, offering a consistent user experience and full control over the package management process.

Adjust Package

Accurate inventory tracking sometimes requires adjustments to package weights. The 'Adjust Package' feature allows for precise updates to the records, ensuring inventory data remains reliable and up-to-date.

Steps for Adjusting a Package:

  1. Select the package you wish to adjust from the inventory list.
  2. Click "Select Function" at the bottom of the screen and choose "Adjust Package" from the list of options.
  3. On the 'Adjust Package' screen, enter the new weight in the 'New Weight' field.
  4. Specify the reason for the weight adjustment in the 'Reason' field.
  5. Include any additional notes in the 'Notes' section to provide context or further explanation for the adjustment.
  6. Review all entered information for accuracy, and then click 'Save' to apply the changes. If you need to cancel the process, simply click 'Cancel'.

Split/Repackage/Mix

Customize your inventory by splitting, repackaging, or mixing existing packages. This function is essential for managing product portions, creating new package combinations, or repackaging into different quantities.

Steps for Splitting, Repackaging, and Mixing Packages:

  1. Select a single package from the inventory list.
  2. Click "Select Function" at the bottom of the screen and choose "Split/Repackage/Mix" from the options.
  3. The selected package will appear in the 'Source Package(s)' field at the top.
  4. To Split: Enter the weight to be split off into the new package. The new package section will automatically populate with this weight. Fill in the new package number, select the product, packaging date, storage room, and indicate whether it is for testing or part of a production batch. Save to confirm.
  5. To Mix: Add additional source packages if necessary, along with the weights to be combined. Input the new package number, choose the product, set the packaging date, select the storage room, and specify testing or production batch options before saving.
  6. To Repackage: Enter the total weight for the source package, provide the new package number, and follow the same process for product selection and storage details.
  7. *upon save, you can print the label, go to the newly created pacakge, create more packages using the same source packages

Add Test Results

Documenting test results ensures compliance and quality control. Add results to single or multiple packages effortlessly.

Steps for Adding Test Results:

  1. Select the package(s) for which you wish to add test results.
  2. Click "Select Function" and choose "Add Test Results" from the options.
  3. Input the URL link to the test results or upload the document directly in the provided fields.
  4. Confirm by clicking "Save."

Transfer Room

Moving packages to different rooms within your facility can be managed with a few clicks.

Steps for Transferring Room:

  1. Select the package(s) to transfer.
  2. Click "Select Function" and pick "Transfer Room" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Choose the destination room from the dropdown and provide a reason for the transfer.
  4. Click "Save" to finalize the transfer.

Mix Packages

To Mix: Add additional source packages if necessary, along with the weights to be combined. Input the new package number, choose the product, set the packaging date, select the storage room, and specify testing or production batch options before saving.

Change Product

Update product information for one or more packages when necessary to reflect current inventory status.

Steps for Changing Product:

  1. Select the package(s) whose product you wish to change.
  2. Click "Select Function" and select "Change Product."
  3. From the dropdown, choose the new product. Use the search function if necessary to find the product.
  4. Click "Change Product" at the bottom to apply the new product information.
